Payment Gateway Excess Charge.
Excess Charge on my Credit Card [Conversion Charges]
As a Customer when you purchase any services from Eliteral, and pay for the
same using a credit card, the charge on the card may be different from the
actual charge displayed on our website. This difference arises from
differences in the FOREX conversion rate used by our bank vis-a-vis your
bank. Typically we have noticed that if you purchased a service worth $100,
your card would show a charge of around $102+.
This excess $2 is because your card issuign bank charges you a FOREX
fluctuation difference for any transaction which you do using your card in
order to purchase a service from outside your country.
There is really nothing we can do to prevent this excess charge. We simply
wish to clarify that this excess charge is not because we intend to charge
you extra. Our charge would be exactly what we displayed on the website.
However your issuing bank would typically overcharge you for any FOREX
transaction because of which you would have a higher charge on your card.
The way it works is as follows -
1. If you buy something worth $100
2. We charge your card with USD 100. This will get converted to INR (Indian
Rupees) using the current conversion rate. Our bank would then charge you
the INR equivalent for USD 100
3. Your bank would in turn convert the INR amount back to your currency and
in this conversion will add 2%+ as their forex conversion margins. This
would result in a slightly higher charge on your card
Please work this cost into your calculations
